1. Child seats
We provide baby seats (0-4 years) and booster cushions (4-12 years) for 50 RMB/day. Tell us your child's age and weight when booking. We install the seat before pickup so you do not have to.
2. Best family route
For families with young children, we recommend the Kunming-Dali-Lijiang loop (4-5 days). Altitude stays below 2,500 m, roads are good, and there are plenty of stops. Avoid Shangri-La and Meili with children under 6 - altitude 3,300+ m is risky.
3. Sample 5-day family itinerary
- Day 1: land in Kunming, rest
- Day 2: Kunming to Dali (320 km, 4 h)
- Day 3: drive around Erhai Lake, easy
- Day 4: Dali to Lijiang (180 km, 2 h)
- Day 5: Lijiang old town, fly home
4. Car choice for families
The Tank 300 SUV is best for families: bigger boot for strollers, higher seating, more comfortable on long drives. The Lavida sedan works for two adults and one small child.
